During cloning, if you receive the message "error running ntfsclone", review the Console log and see if the process stopped in the middle of a restore or clone:

If the process failed in the middle of a clone, there is an issue with the filesystem. To resolve, run CHKDSK in Windows following the instructions in the Run CHKDSK on Boot Camp Knowledge Base.
After running CHKDSK, try create a clone and see if it resolves the issue.
